A question for Obama from his Daughters

To the current president, a question from your daughters:

Daddy, On September 22, 1862, President Lincoln issued one of two executive order, the first declared the freedom of all slaves in any state of the Confederate States of American that did not return to union control by January 1, 1863. The second order, issued on January 1, 1863, named ten specific states where it would apply. Lincoln issued the Executive Order by his authority as “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy” under Article II, section 2 of the United States Constitution. These two executive orders are the Emancipation Proclamation. Although most slaves we not freed immediately, but by the end of the Civil War, more that 4 million slaves were free from slavery.

The Proclamation was denounced by Copperhead Democrats who opposed the war and tolerated both secession & slavery. This became an issue in the 1862 elections, with the democrats gaining 28 seats in the House. After Lincoln’s re-election he pressed the Congress to pass the 13th Amendment, banning slavery in all of the U.S.states and territories. This amendment was ratified by enough states on December 6, 1865 and proclaimed 12 days later.

The pasted election, brought to power, a democratic controlled House & Senate as well as the President. Now lets take a look had what has been done in the past 7 months. The country is now projected to have a $9 trillion dollar deficit or the next 10 years. What the president policies threaten to do over the decade are very scary.

The following information is provided by Brian Riedi, senior policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation:

1 – Since World War II, the largest budget deficit recorded was 6.0% of GDP in 1983. The Bush Administration oversaw budget deficits averaging 2.0% of GDP. The projected 2009 deficit of 11.2% would nearly double the post war record.

2 – The 2009 budget deficit will be larger than all deficits from 2002 thru 2007 combined. More than 43 cents of every dollar Washington spends in 2009 will have been borrowed.

3 – While the President claims to have inherited the 2009 budget deficit, it is interesting to note that the estimated 2009 budget deficit has increased by $400 billion since his inauguration, the whole point of the “stimulus” was to increase deficit spending to $2 trillion based on the unproven notion that it would alleviate the current recession.

4 – The 22% spending increase projected for 2009 is the largest government expansion since the 1952 height of the Korean War. Federal spending is up 57% since 2001.

5 – The White House has bragged that it will cut the deficit in half by 2013, but wait the deficit will have almost quadrupled by that year, so, we will still have a budget deficit twice as high as under President Bush.

6 - The national debt, $5.8 trillion as of 2008 is projected to double by 2012, and triple by 2019. The simple truth is that under President Obama this country will have accumulated more government debt than under every President from George Washington to George W. Bush.

These numbers do not even take into account OBAMACARE, CAP & TRADE or any other spending bills that he and congress come up with or the current budget.

There is a solution, NOT ALL FUTURE spending is inevitable. Simply returning to the spending levels of the 1980s and 1990s ( about $21,000.00 per household) would balance the budget by 2012 without any tax increases.

It has always been the case in the past that the current generation does not leave a debt for the next generation to pay off. This has been de-emphasized in our day. This development has occurred at the same time that the policy of de-emphasizing the restraints and literal construction of the Constitution has been under assault.

Today the current administration is spending the next generations’ inheritance, the information above is astonishing. If the current trends are not stopped, or corrected now, then we will be the first generation to squander the next generation inheritance. The problem will be aggravated by the fact that this generation has committed to pay off its additional liabilities in the future, amounting to trillions of dollars.

The founding fathers and all generations until ours, has had the feeling that passing on their debt to the next generation would be forcing the children to be born into a certain amount of bondage or INVOLUNTARY servitude or SLAVERY, something for which they had no control over, or nothing that they had voted for. This would be in a literal sense,    “taxation without representation” something that this country fought and died  for to end during our founding years.

Now just think, with what’s happened recently with the credit cards companies and their borrower (oh we canceled your credit card) were now to take place with the country that holds most of our countries debt (China) by the way aren’t they a communist nation, stopping all lending to us and calling for the debt to be paid off NOW, what would be the state of our children & grandchildren be then?

Maybe the current President ought to think about this or he might be hearing the following from his children or grandchildren:       Mama, what has our Daddy done to us?

A finale thought from the founders:   It behooves you, therefore, to think and act for yourself and your people. The great principles of right and wrong are legible to every reader; to pursue them requires not the aid of many counselors (czars). The whole art of government consists in the art of being honest. Only aim to do your duty, and mankind will give you credit.       Thomas Jefferson
